Vale of Pickering continues…

A very un-july day but work continuing pulling together the images and text for the Statement of Significance for the Vale of Pickering.

Crossing north-south across the Vale of Pickering between Sherburn and Brompton. The round sign (for bumps) probably tells us something about the ways in which the former wetlands in the centre of Valley are contracting and now undulating.

Chalk wall on barn in Ganton – the chalk building tradition follows down from the Yorkshire Wolds into the Eastern end of the Vale of Pickering. Many are in a poor state of repair –  others are just lovely.
