The attempt to get the scaffolding structure at the entrance to Dale Farm, Essex listed by English Heritage as an “emblem of a struggle for traveller rights”.

This is an interesting example of both of the political use of heritage and the breadth of understanding of ‘heritage’ that moves far beyond the heritage structures of the elite.
